This course is for beginners or players with some experience who feel that what they are doing just isn’t producing the results they want. The focus of this course is to get functional – i.e. join the band. You need to learn to participate without worrying about whether or not you can play exactly what is on the recording. You may choose to use the skills you develop in this course to emulate another guitar player or you may choose to focus on developing your own musical identity.
The goals of this course are: to learn to locate the natural notes in the 1st/Open Position both on the fretboard and on the staff; to learn to read rhythmic notation; and to develop the physical skill to rhythmically sequence notes in order to play melody.
The goals of this course are: to reinforce the natural notes in the 1st/Open Position; to understand Position Playing and Position Playing Notation; and to add the 6/8 time signature and dotted-quarter to rhythmic notation and execution.
